Lookout Lodge is located at Port Arthur on the Tasman Peninsula, Tasmania, Australia. The Lodge is just over an hour's drive from the capital city of Tasmania, Hobart.
Finding the Lodge is easy - simply travel along the Arthur Highway from Hobart (or from Sorrell if you're coming from elsewhere) until you reach the township of Port Arthur.
Drive 200 metres past the Port Arthur Historic Site on your left until you reach the turnoff to Safety Cove Road. Turn left onto Safety Cove Road and travel approx 1km until you see the turnoff to Palmer's Lookout Road on your right.
Turn right on Palmer's Lookout Road and travel up the hill on the gravel road through copses of forest, reminiscent of 'The Lord of the Rings' scenery until you emerge from the trees and see Lookout Lodge on your left.
Lookout Lodge is a self contained lodge set high on the hill on Palmer's Lookout, Port Arthur, overlooking tranquil Carnarvon Bay, the Port Arthur Historic Site, Point Puer and looking out to Tasman Island and the Heads.
Lookout Lodge is just over 2 kms from the soon-to-be World Heritage Site of Port Arthur Historic Convict Site.
